Muskathlon Kenia 2018

Your participation in a Muskathlon will change the lives of many people—including your own! With the donations collected in advance, children are freed from poverty, families are given new hope and entire villages are given a new perspective. Men and women have the opportunity to run a distance of 21km (half marathon), 42km (marathon) or 63km (ultrarun), or ride a distance of 120km by bike or hike a route of 63km and thereby making a stand for justice!

In addition to the acclimatization in the country, the last sporting preparations and the actual running day, there are many encounters with those for whom the Muskathlon is being made: the local people! Local home visits, local events for children, project visits, nature experiences and visits to churches are all on the program. The Muskathlon will be an unforgettable journey from which each and every participant will return home full of impressions of land and people, culture and nature, sport and spirituality.

Muskathlon is organized by the 4th Musketeer e.V. (4M) from Germany and 4M Association Switzerland in cooperation with Compassion: A relief organization that frees children from poverty and gives them new hope and perspective in a holistic way.

Your extreme commitment to justice worldwide!

Your participation makes a difference

• You become a defender of the poorest!

• By visiting, you are encouraging Compassion children and staff in Kenya!

• You strengthen your own character: your heart, your body and your spirit will be permanently changed by participating in this project! Participant Costs

- Cancellation after registration: the registration fee of CHF 100 will be withheld

- cancellation 3 months before the start of Muskathlon: 50% of the participant costs

Donation

• Each participant must also fundraise a personal donation target of 10,000.- CHF for the work of Compassion. Failure to achieve this goal is not an exclusion criterion. Nevertheless, it is a deliberately set benchmark in order to leave one’s comfort zone and not least to justify the expense of the entire project.
Muskathlon is a non-profit project that aims bless those who suffer from injustice. In order to be able to guarantee a professional organization, however, it requires a certain amount of financial resources.

The participant fee (direct project costs) consists of:

- Organization and implementation of the project week
- stay/hotel costs
- Transfer within the country
- Entrances
- VP Catering
- Permits and safety measures on site (police, medical staff)
- Organization, material and execution of the sporting event
- Guides and experts on the subject
- Supervision of the participants in advance (info events, as well as 1: 1 )

Depending on the project country, the listed positions differ slightly from each other. In addition, 10% of the collected donations will be used for personnel and material costs of 4M Switzerland in the following areas: - Promotion / Marketing for further participants

- Further development of new projects/new Muskathlon countries
- Backoffice / Administration

The official controlling bodies, such as the quality seal ZEWO or the code of honor of the SEA, have the following requirements with regard to efficiency and distribution of funds:

ZEWO: "The share of projects and services in the total expenditure of the organization is within the range for comparable organizations and amounts to at least 65%, which means that the share for the administration and the fundraising amounts to a maximum of 35%."

SEA: "The expenses for fundraising/advertising and administration together amount to a maximum of 25% of the operating expenses over a 5-year average."

With our partners Compassion and Glowbalact we have a common upper limit of 20% as our goal. (Distribution of donations in administration/fundraising and direct project investment). If you have any further questions regarding the use of donations, you may contact the responsible persons directly. 4M Switzerland will gladly provide further information on the use of the participation costs.
